Why We're Here on the 'Net?

We see the Internet as a new way to serve our customers and to meet new ones.  Please bear with us as we work out the kinks and expand our site.  At this time we DO NOT HAVE A SHOPPING CART feature.  We feel that without it, we may service you the most personal manner possible without having you in our actual store via the phone.  We feel that we can suggest to you the proper product in the proper size, thus get you the proper product on the first try.

For those of you who don't know us, Michelson's Shoes is a Full Service family shoe store.  We pride ourselves in offering you a knowledgeable, courteous sales staff (over 600 years of experience combined!); a full range of sizes and width for men, women, and children; and the inventory to fit you properly.

We are family-owned with currently the third and fourth generations involved on a daily basis.  We originated as a shoe repair shop back in 1919 in Lexington Center, and through the years have transformed into what we are now, a full retail operation.  We expanded to Needham in 1985, taking over another family shoe store, Wells Shoe.  The two stores stock identical merchandise, and products are transferred daily between them for our customers' convenience.

Not yet. We are developing this site ourselves and do not have the procedures in place to do online shopping.
 
For now we do take phone orders, though we do recommend that you come in and get properly fitted by our staff.

If you plan to purchase we accept MC/Visa/Discover and will accept email or phone orders.  Please include mailing and credit card information.  We try to ship the most cost effective way.  Footwear items are usual shipped via UPS, smaller items are shipped US Postal Service.  At this time UPS packages are $7.50 to New England, $9.00 elsewhere in the USA.  There is a 25¢ increase per pair for multi-pair orders, i.e. $7.75 for two pair of shoes shipped to Maine.  There can be a slight increased shipping charge for heavy or large items such as boots.  US Postal packages are $4.05 for 1 lbs or under.
